Tennis fans are in for an intriguing clash at the US Open as British stars Emma Raducanu and Jack Draper go head-to-head in the opening round of the reimagined mixed doubles event. Raducanu will pair with world number two Carlos Alcaraz, while Draper teams up with American Jessica Pegula in a matchup that promises sparks.

The winners of this first-round encounter could potentially meet Novak Djokovic and Olga Danilovic if the Serbian superstar duo overcomes Russia’s Mirra Andreeva and Daniil Medvedev. Other notable names in the 16-pair draw include Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud, Naomi Osaka alongside Gael Monfils, and 45-year-old Venus Williams partnering Reilly Opelka against Karolina Muchova and Andrey Rublev.

This year’s mixed doubles has been scheduled just before the main US Open tournament, taking place on August 19 and 20, with a $1 million prize for the winning pair. Matches on the first day will be played across both Arthur Ashe Stadium and Louis Armstrong Stadium, while the second day’s night session is exclusively at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Play begins at 4pm UK time on Tuesday, with the concluding night session starting at midnight UK time on Thursday, August 21.

The revamped format and star-studded line-up are expected to draw huge attention from fans worldwide, offering a fast-paced, thrilling spectacle ahead of the traditional singles and doubles matches.
