Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have arrived in Chile to put the finishing touches to their build-up for the much-anticipated 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

The U-20 national team, coached by Aliyu Zubairu, began their training programme in Abuja last month, where they played several friendly matches to test tactics and assess the squad. Their move to Chile marks the final phase of preparation, with more warm-up games scheduled before the tournament begins.

Coach Zubairu is expected to release his final squad list later this week, trimming the team down to the players who will represent Nigeria on the global stage.

The Flying Eagles have been drawn into Group F alongside Colombia, Saudi Arabia and Norway. They will begin their campaign against Norway on Monday, September 29, as they look to make a strong start in the competition.

Nigeria’s U-20 team, known for their resilience and track record at youth tournaments, will be aiming to make a big statement in Chile and challenge for honours at the World Cup.
