The Las Vegas Aces are heading back to the WNBA Finals after surviving a fierce battle against the Indiana Fever in a Game 5 showdown that had fans on the edge of their seats. The defending champions prevailed 107–98 in overtime, sealing their third Finals appearance in the past four years and setting up a blockbuster clash with the Phoenix Mercury.

The semifinal decider in Las Vegas was a rollercoaster of emotions. Despite missing star guard Kelsey Mitchell, who was forced to exit in the third quarter due to severe leg cramps, the Fever refused to fold. They clawed back from a nine-point deficit to outscore the Aces 23–15 in the fourth quarter, forcing overtime and stunning the home crowd.

But in the extra period, Las Vegas found another gear. A’ja Wilson and Jackie Young, who had carried the offensive load all night, were joined by Chelsea Gray, who took control of the game when it mattered most. Gray delivered a masterclass in crunch time, scoring eight of her 17 points in overtime, including two back-to-back three-pointers that sealed the Fever’s fate.

Wilson was simply unstoppable. The two-time MVP finished with 35 points, seven rebounds, five assists, four steals, and four blocks — making her the first player in WNBA history to record 25+ points, three or more blocks, and three or more steals in consecutive games, whether in the regular season or playoffs. Her 35-point performance also tied her with Breanna Stewart and Diana Taurasi for the most 30-point playoff games in league history, marking her ninth career milestone.

Jackie Young added 30 points of her own, helping the Aces make history as the first pair of teammates to each score 30 or more points in a WNBA postseason game. Their chemistry and relentless drive proved decisive in breaking Indiana’s late momentum.

For the Fever, veteran guard Odyssey Sims was impressive with 27 points, while young star Aliyah Boston recorded 11 points and 16 rebounds before fouling out in the fourth quarter — a loss that proved costly in overtime. Despite their defeat, the Fever earned widespread respect for their resilience and fight throughout the series.

With this win, the Las Vegas Aces reaffirmed their dominance in the league and their hunger for another championship run. As they prepare to face the Phoenix Mercury in the Finals, the Aces will look to add another title to their dynasty and cement their legacy as one of the greatest teams in WNBA history.
