Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has reaffirmed Nigeria’s determination to secure a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The national team missed out on the last edition held in Qatar and is now relying on the playoff route to reach next year’s finals after failing to qualify automatically.
The West African side demonstrated their credentials in the semi-final on Thursday, overpowering Gabon 4-1 to advance to the decisive match. They will face the Democratic Republic of Congo in the playoff final on Sunday in Rabat.
Speaking to ESPN, Osimhen expressed confidence in the squad’s ability to achieve qualification. “We have the talent and the squad to make this dream a reality,” he said. “Every player wants to play at the World Cup, and we can get this done.”
