Matt Kuchar and his son Cameron captured the 2025 PNC Championship with a record-breaking 33-under-par total, securing a seven-stroke victory in Florida. The father-son duo finished the tournament with an 18-under 54 in the final round, dominating the family-oriented event that celebrates major champions and their children.

The win was particularly emotional for Matt, who lost his father, Peter Kuchar, to a heart attack in February. “I’m a believer in God, that dad is up above looking down… For me to hit it to a foot makes me think there’s something more out there. Just miss my pops,” Matt said, voice breaking as he paid tribute to his late father.

Peter Kuchar, a former top-ranked doubles tennis player in Florida, had previously participated in the PNC Championship with Matt, helping shape his son’s early career when he caddied for him during the U.S. Amateur in 1997 and subsequent Masters and U.S. Open appearances.

Matt gave Cameron the honor of tapping in the final shot, marking a memorable family moment. “Now to have this shot with the family, it’s clearly missing one, but it’s special, very special,” he added.

From the start, the Kuchar pair set the pace. Cameron birdied the first hole while Matt scored an eagle on the third. In the scramble format, they recorded just two pars, added two eagles, and finished five shots clear of the previous tournament record.

The 2025 event also featured memorable highlights, including 86-year-old Lee Trevino holing out from the fairway for an eagle on the 13th hole, while John Daly and his son, as well as Nelly Korda and her father, posted strong finishes behind the Kuchars.

Cameron, set to play for TCU next year, and Matt each received the Willie Park Trophy, commemorating their achievement in a tournament that has grown since its 1995 inception as the Father-Son Challenge.
