Portuguese football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has been named Middle East Player of the Year at the 2025 Globe Soccer Awards, held in Dubai on Sunday night.
Ronaldo received the honour at a star-studded ceremony attended by leading figures in global football, including club presidents, agents, former players and sports executives.
Speaking after collecting the award, the 40-year-old described the Globe Soccer Awards as one of his favourite ceremonies, noting the significance of seeing key stakeholders in world football gathered in one place.
“It’s always a great pleasure to be here and see players, presidents and familiar faces together,” Ronaldo said.
The Al-Nassr forward also stressed that his motivation remains as strong as ever, insisting that his desire to perform at the highest level has not diminished.
“I still motivate myself to carry on. It doesn’t matter where I play — I want to score goals, keep going, win more trophies and reach my targets. And I will reach that number,” he added.
Ronaldo has enjoyed another prolific year in the Middle East, further cementing his influence on football in the region since his move to Saudi Arabia.
