Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Super Falcons striker Joy Omewa ahead of the second half of the season.
The club announced the acquisition on Tuesday, confirming that the 23-year-old forward joined from Danish side Fortuna Hjørring on a contract running until the end of the 2025/26 campaign.
Omewa enjoyed a successful three-year spell with Fortuna Hjørring, where she scored 52 goals in 85 league appearances, establishing herself as one of the club’s most reliable attacking options.
During her time in Denmark, the Nigerian international won the Danish Women’s Cup on two occasions and helped Fortuna Hjørring clinch the Kvindeligaen title in the 2024/25 season.
At international level, Omewa has represented Nigeria at the U-17 and U-20 levels before earning promotion to the Super Falcons. She has since made two appearances for the senior national team.
Her arrival is expected to strengthen Nottingham Forest’s attacking options as the club pushes for a strong finish to the season.
