Monday put the Spirit ahead in the 23rd minute, continuing her standout season with what became her 12th league goal. The 24-year-old has been one of the team’s most influential players this year, also recording a goal in the CONCACAF Women’s Cup and providing two assists across competitions.

Washington Spirit secured the win late in the encounter when Croix Bethune added a second goal with just six minutes remaining.
