Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis to Face Trial Over Victor Osimhen Transfer Allegations

Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis is set to appear in court following allegations of financial misconduct tied to Victor Osimhen’s transfer from French club Lille in 2020.

Italian prosecutors claim the deal, which also involved goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis and three Napoli youth players—Manzi, Palmieri, and Liguori—was structured to artificially inflate player valuations. Investigators argue this was done to improve Napoli’s financial statements.

De Laurentiis will not face the proceedings alone. Longtime associate Andrea Chiavelli and Napoli as an organization are also included in the case.

The trial is scheduled to commence on December 2, 2026, marking the start of a closely watched legal battle in European football.
