The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced an increase in the Super Eagles’ bonuses for reaching the Round of 16 at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Each player is now set to receive $30,000, up from the initially proposed $15,000.
Reports indicate that players had rejected the initial offer, prompting negotiations that led to the doubled payout, surpassing what the team earned at the last AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire.
The NFF and players have also agreed on bonuses for advancing further in the tournament. The Super Eagles secured their place in the knockout stage following a 3-2 victory over Tunisia in their recent Group C clash.
Nigeria will face Uganda in their final group game on Tuesday, with hopes of maintaining momentum as the tournament progresses.
