Nottingham Forest are stepping up efforts to sign American international Yunus Musah from AC Milan as they continue a busy summer of squad reinforcements ahead of the new Premier League season. The 22-year-old midfielder has been made available for transfer after falling out of favour with new Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri.

Musah’s future at San Siro looks increasingly uncertain, with reports suggesting he does not feature in Allegri’s tactical plans for the upcoming campaign. Although the Serie A giants are open to letting him go, they have set a price tag of €30 million for his services.

Napoli had earlier expressed interest in the versatile midfielder and initiated talks with Milan. However, their €25 million offer was turned down, as Milan remain firm in their valuation. Musah, who made 40 appearances and contributed three assists during the 2024/25 season, is now attracting attention from the Premier League.

Forest, keen to bolster their midfield options, are preparing an official bid for the American, according to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport via Sportal. The move comes as part of a broader recruitment drive by the club, who recently completed the signing of winger Dan Ndoye from Bologna in a £35 million deal.

In addition to their incoming transfers, Nottingham Forest have managed to secure the future of key playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White, who has signed a new long-term contract to remain at the City Ground, shutting down speculation over a potential exit.

Meanwhile, AC Milan’s squad dynamics continue to shift. Nigerian-Swiss forward Noah Okafor is nearing a return from injury, offering a timely boost for the Rossoneri. However, questions over the club’s selection policy have been raised after Allegri publicly addressed his decision to start Musah over Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze in key matches last season. The Milan boss cited defensive concerns as a major reason behind his preference.

With Musah seemingly on his way out, Nottingham Forest are now well-positioned to land the energetic midfielder as they look to add more depth and athleticism to their squad for the 2025/26 season.
