Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has unveiled his final 28-man squad for the 35th Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco (AFCON 2025). The announcement comes a week after Chelle released a provisional 54-man list, which he has since trimmed to meet tournament requirements.
Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali made the cut despite earlier reports suggesting he might miss the tournament due to hand and ankle injuries. He will be joined by Francis Uzoho and Amas Obasogie in the goalkeeping department.
Nigeria’s attacking lineup features Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, alongside Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, and Moses Simon. Paul Onuachu and Cyriel Dessers have earned recalls, while Sevilla duo Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke also secured spots in the squad.
The defensive unit includes Calvin Bassey (Fulham FC, England), Oluwasemilogo Ajayi (Hull City, England), Bright Osayi-Samuel (Birmingham City, England), Bruno Onyemaechi (Olympiakos, Greece), Chidozie Awaziem (Nantes FC, France), Zaidu Sanusi (FC Porto, Portugal), Igoh Ogbu (Slavia Prague, Czech Republic), and Ryan Alebiosu (Blackburn Rovers, England).
