Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk have completed the signing of Nigerian midfielder Prosper Obah.
Obah joins Shakhtar from fellow Ukrainian side LNZ Cherkasy, where he impressed during the first half of the season. The 22-year-old has signed a long-term contract that will keep him at the club until December 2030.
The midfielder only arrived at LNZ Cherkasy in the summer transfer window but quickly established himself as a key figure in the squad. He scored eight goals and provided one assist in 17 appearances across all competitions.
Shakhtar Donetsk confirmed that Obah will officially link up with his new club on January 1, strengthening their midfield options ahead of the second half of the season.
The move marks another significant step in the young Nigerian’s career, as he joins one of Eastern Europe’s most successful clubs with a strong reputation for developing emerging talents.
