Brock Lesnar Reportedly Banned from WWE Amid Ongoing Controversy

Brock Lesnar, one of the most dominant figures in professional wrestling and mixed martial arts history, has reportedly been placed on WWE’s internal ban list, effectively ending any prospects of a return to the ring.

The claim was made by former UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier during a recent discussion with fellow MMA legend Demetrious Johnson. Cormier indicated that Lesnar is no longer permitted to compete under WWE, referring to an unspecified issue that has placed the 48-year-old athlete in what he described as “big trouble.”

“Brock is on the no-go list right now,” Cormier said. “He’s in serious trouble. People know what happened, but I’m not going to speak on it publicly.”

Although Cormier didn’t elaborate, Lesnar’s name was previously linked to a high-profile human trafficking lawsuit filed in 2024. The legal case also implicated former WWE chairman Vince McMahon and brought renewed scrutiny to the organization. While no charges have been formally brought against Lesnar, the allegations and associations appear to have had significant professional consequences.

Lesnar’s last WWE appearance came during the summer of 2023. Since then, speculation had continued over a possible final run in the company or even a return to the UFC. However, both options now seem off the table, due to age, legal concerns, and internal decisions by WWE leadership.

At one point, Lesnar was on track for a potential clash with Cormier in the UFC. After Cormier’s win over Stipe Miocic at UFC 226 in 2018, Lesnar famously stormed into the cage and shoved him, setting the stage for a heavyweight title showdown. Yet, the bout never materialized.

Cormier explained that Lesnar ultimately leveraged the UFC attention to negotiate a more lucrative contract with WWE.

“WWE paid him more to stay,” Cormier said. “There was a time when it could’ve been me and Brock at Madison Square Garden when I fought Derrick Lewis. But they offered him so much money. He was a massive draw—he could earn just by throwing suplexes.”

Reflecting on the missed opportunity, Cormier added, “Or he could’ve fought me in the Octagon—which is real—and I would have tried to finish him. He made the smarter business move.”

With Lesnar now unofficially blacklisted by WWE and no prospects in MMA, his athletic career may have reached an unceremonious close. For a man once known for conquering both the Octagon and the squared circle, the silence surrounding his exit speaks volumes.
