Allycia Hellen Rodrigues successfully defended her ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai world title on Friday night with a spectacular third-round knockout of Johanna Persson at ONE Fight Night 33 in Bangkok.

Fighting under the lights of the historic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, Rodrigues marked her fifth year as champion in emphatic fashion, dispatching her Swedish challenger with a thunderous left hook just moments into the final round. The Brazilian improves her record to 35 wins and 7 losses and was rewarded with a $50,000 performance bonus for her dominant display.

Persson, who entered the bout on a seven-fight win streak and recently captured the WBC Muay Thai world title, looked to dethrone Rodrigues with early pressure and aggressive combinations. She mixed in kicks and clinch work in the opening round, attempting to disrupt the champion’s rhythm.

However, Rodrigues maintained control throughout, utilizing range with crisp jabs, front kicks, and clean counters. As the second round unfolded, the champion turned up the intensity, blocking Persson’s attacks and retaliating with sharp knee strikes and punches in close quarters.

The end came swiftly in the third. After evading an offensive flurry, Rodrigues landed a stiff body shot before unleashing a vicious left hook that dropped Persson to the canvas. Though the Swede beat the referee’s count, the Brazilian closed the show seconds later with another punishing left hook that forced an immediate stoppage.

Elsewhere on the card, a featherweight contest between Shadow Singha Mawynn and Algeria’s Mohamed Younes Rabah was ruled a no contest following an accidental eye poke. Shadow had floored Rabah with a short right hand late in the first round, but the fight was halted early in the second when Rabah could no longer continue due to impaired vision.

In bantamweight action, Russian striker Vladimir Kuzmin outpointed Ireland’s Stefan Korodi in a high-paced Muay Thai duel. Kuzmin, known for his mobility and precision, landed the cleaner shots throughout the bout, including spinning elbows and counter-kicks that earned him a unanimous decision victory over the aggressive, forward-moving Korodi.

Rodrigues’ victory reinforces her position as the dominant force in the atomweight division and solidifies her legacy as one of the most dangerous champions in the sport.
