UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall will return to action on October 25 to defend his undisputed title against French contender Ciryl Gane at UFC 321, scheduled to take place at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.

The bout marks Aspinall’s first appearance inside the Octagon in over a year and will headline a stacked card recently revealed by the UFC as part of a triple-title fight announcement. The 32-year-old Brit last fought in July 2024, when he secured a dominant win over Curtis Blaydes, avenging the only loss of his UFC career.

Aspinall enters the bout with a professional record of 15-3 and has emerged as one of the most technically gifted heavyweights in the promotion. He was elevated to undisputed champion status last month following the official retirement of Jon Jones, who had previously held the title.

Ciryl Gane, who previously fought for the vacant heavyweight championship in 2023 but suffered a decisive defeat to Jon Jones, will now get a second shot at UFC gold. The Frenchman remains one of the division’s most experienced and dangerous strikers, setting the stage for a high-level tactical showdown in Abu Dhabi.

Following his last win, Aspinall publicly called for a bout with Jones, but the retirement of the former two-division champion left the heavyweight landscape wide open. Despite Jones stepping away, speculation around a potential comeback continues to swirl. UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards recently suggested in an interview that Jones could still return to face Aspinall in a future blockbuster bout.

For now, all eyes turn to UFC 321, where the champion will aim to cement his position at the top of the division. Gane, looking to redeem his past title loss, will have the opportunity to shake up the heavyweight hierarchy in one of the most anticipated matchups of the year.
